Ultra Processed Food as a Force for Good?
Ultraprocessed foods are said to be hyper-palatable and energy dense, using ingredients and processing steps whose health effects are not well understood. Putting aside the more vague health risks (carcinogenic? inflammatory? etc), from a simple metabolic standpoint, the issue is they are causing us to overeat calories.
But what if these same methods, perfected by the food industry over many years, could be used to get people to NOT overconsume calories? An example here would be the reformulated David Protein bar.
